LumenLoom Atelier

Our story

A studio built around attention

LumenLoom Atelier began in a small San Francisco workroom where designer Mira Vale invited knitters to slow down, ask better questions, and keep a notebook beside the yarn. The first workshops grew through referrals from makers who wanted practical instruction without losing the pleasure of discovery.

Today, our digital studio brings that same patient approach to learners wherever they keep their needles. Every lesson connects technique to purpose, so a swatch becomes a decision and a project becomes a personal language.

Our mission

To make excellent knitting education clear, welcoming, and deeply useful for independent makers.

The atelier principles

Clarity first

Instructions explain the why as carefully as the how.

Respect the material

Fiber, tension, and time all deserve thoughtful choices.

Keep making

Mistakes become useful evidence, never a reason to stop.
